A Comfortable Win
Shildon AFC entertained Sunderland RCA on Wednesday 28th September 2016 and once again started slowly. They went behind after 18 minutes when Shildon’s Matty Robson missed a cross, leaving Carl Larkin unmarked, and he fired the ball into the bottom corner.
Shildon’s first shot on target didn’t happen until the 27th minute.
On the half hour the game changed when last man Ross McNab pushed David Ferguson to the ground and was red carded.
Three minutes late Micky Rae headed in a cross from Matty Robson for 1 -1.

Shildon took advantage of the extra man in the 2nd half and controlled the game from the restart. They took the lead on 49 minutes with the goal of the season so far when David Ferguson beat two defenders and hit a terrific left footer from 25 yards into the roof of the net.
It was 3 – 1 on 70 minutes when some good passing opened up the RCA defence for Micky Rae to square the ball to Billy Greulich-Smith for an easy tap in.
Near the end a great through ball by Billy found Lewis Wing who slotted in the fourth.
