Shildon Remain 4th

Shildon AFC remain 4th in the league after an easy away victory at Dunston UTS on Saturday 1st October 2016. The Railwaymen have games in hand on the three teams above them.

With new signings Daniel Parker and Amar Purewal on the bench, Shildon got off to a flying start when Lewis Wing scored after just 2 minutes.

However, poor defending by Shildon saw No 9 Malky Morien level after 6 minutes.

On 19 minutes a low Lewis Wing corner found Billy Greulich-Smith on the near post for 3 – 1. Shortly after another great corner by Wing was powerfully headed in by Jamie Harwood.

Half Time:  Dunston UTS  1  Shildon AFC  3

Five minutes in, Micky Rae combined with David Ferguson, who scored with ease.

Minutes later Dan Groves was clean through but he hit the bar.

Just before the hour Lewis Dodds raced through and lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper Stephan Holden for 5 – 1.

More chances fell to both sides, with Dunston’s Aidan McGee hitting the bar and a Lewis Wing free kick hitting the post.
