Shildon AFC played their last home game of the season against Marske United on 19th April 2017 and won comfortably  3 – 0 in the end, after a goalless first half.

After just 2 minutes Shildon’s Adam Burnicle’s goal was disallowed after an earlier infringement.

Play was held up for a good while on 17 minutes when Marske’s No 10 Andrew Ramsbottom was carried off with a bad leg injury.

Chances fell to both sides, Daniel Earl for Marske and Adam Burnicle for Shildon, but both failed to convert.

After Marske’s Craig Gott missed an open goal, Shildon started to pile on the pressure and on 65 minutes they were ahead when Lewis Wing fired a long range shot past keeper Robert Dean.

Minutes later Adam Burnicle made it 2 – 0, and then a cross from the left from Lewis Wing was turned into his own goal by Matthew Bell for game over for Marske.
