Anyone who knows Daryll (or Dash) will tell you he plays a strong role both on the pitch and off. Daryll, age 32 was recently signed as a defender in his third spell with the club in recent years.

In the first month with Shildon Daryll has made 6 appearances, scored once and bagged man of the match against Hebburn.  Not a bad entrance!!

When he’s not on the pitch he’s following his second love of Boxing.  Daryll has recently returned from a 7 month tour in Australia where he went to follow his dream in the ring.  Although boxing is a big part of his life putting on his footy boots will always trump stepping in the ring.

As a seasoned player his advice to the younger players would be to make the most of the game and “whatever your skill level to play to enjoy”

As a not so quite lad he would love to see more talking happening on the pitch and could not stress enough that centre half’s need to talk to each other no matter what to keep the game going well.

His biggest fan is also his idol! Daryl’s dad plays an important part in his love for football encouraging him to play from a young age and still following all of his games to this day.  He’s also his biggest critic which is fine as he takes it on board and works harder.

If you want to see him do a specific goal celebration he is open to requests!  Just tweet @Official_SAFC.

As self-appointed entertainment manager Daryll’s in charge of making sure the lads team morale is kept going between games – with undoubtedly a trip to the boozer!
